Crash – The Worst so far!

I got a new life!

The weekend was here again and I had already packed my laptop and clothes to spend weekend out of home. I called my friend who said that he is going to Cunoor. He was driving down and I asked him if he can drop me to Mysore. He said he can. It was good as we could get a few hours to talk as well. We started our Journey on Saturday morning by 9:00am and we reached the Bangalore – Mysore Highway by 9:30am.

Its always been a pleasure to drive to Mysore as the road is amazing and one could go at high speeds also. I have driven at 170kmph on that road a couple of times.

We stopped at a nice Restaurant for breakfast. I was playing with my friend’s baby boy. He is so sweet and playful. After some photography we started our journey again. My friend is a Director of a company in Bangalore and his wife works with a very large Hardware company. We started to talk about our work and share our experiences. It has always been helpful talking and listening to him as there is so much of learning for me.

While talking and having some good time we were totally unaware that we are heading for a big crash that was just around the corner.

While negotiating one curve the lorry ahead of us braked hard. We slowed down and were forced to switch on the lane on our left. Just as we switched the lane we saw a mini bus parked there. We had no other option but to jam on the brakes which we did but unfortunately that did not help us a bit as the vehicle skidded and rammed into the mini bus parked on the Highway. I was in the front passenger seat and the impact was on my side. To my good luck I was wearing the seat belt which actually saved my life.

It happened in a fraction of a second. We changed lane – jammed on the brake – and BANG we collided...
My friend’s wife was thrown from the rear seat, she hit my seat from rear which pushed my seat ahead and her head collided with the dashboard – thankfully she got her hand between her head and the dashboard. The baby fell from the seat on the bag which was there on the floor giving him some cushioning. My Friend dashed on the side window and his inner lip was cut badly. I got a new life b’coz of the seat belt I was wearing but since the windshield crashed small pieces of glass got into my left hand and I had some minor cuts on my left hand only.

Thank GOD! Everyone in the car was safe. We immediately got out of the car and checked with each other. We were glad that everyone was safe including the baby. The next thing was to check the damage of the car. It made us really sad and upset to see the condition of the car. We started to talk to the driver of that mini bus and the conductor. These are local buses they run between two villages sitting on the either sides of the entire highway. It was his mistake to park the vehicle in the middle of the road and we had no way to escape that as we had a lorry at our right. Sai was thinking if he could avoid it anyway but unfortunately there was no way we could have avoided it. At this time we also realized is that we were at a place where the fastest help could take a few hours to arrive. This area is known for its notorious activities and we were alert at all times. We made sure that no one robbed our belongings. There were a lot of people who actually tried to get inside the car but we did not allow them.

A lot of crowd had gathered already and we had to do quiet a bit of talking. I was calling up the Maruti on road help to get a tow truck to tow away the car back to the service station. I called up another friend of mine who runs a cab business. I asked him to send a cab to the spot of the accident as we had decided to continue our journey and not to go back to Bangalore. My friend called his family and informed them about it. My mom had called a few minutes before the accident and I was sure that I would not receive a call from home till evening so I did not inform anyone at home. Actually I do not intend to inform them about it as well. I feel it will just make them worry all the time. My friend and his wife were busy talking to those people there and trying to make sure that we screw the mini bus guy as he had parked the vehicle in the middle of the road.

The car was not in a position to start or move at all. It was lifted by the people there and brought to side so that we do not block the highway. When the car was moved we could see the debris all over the place.

As time passed by the crowd started to fade off and we were kind of normal by now and were thanking god for saving us. This is when I realized the impact and everyone who saw where I was sitting just said that you have got a new life. Trust me when I saw that I felt the same.

God is there and it was just coz of him we all were safe after such a serious crash.

We were patiently waiting for the cab and the tow truck. It started to rain heavy and the cab arrived. We transferred our luggage from the car to the cab and just when we were done transferring the luggage the tow truck also arrived. We started again. It was 2:30pm now. The first thing was to wear a seat belt. We were in a state of shock. It was over now and we had survived the worst crash of our life so far.

It is not about being careful. It is all about time. Even after being so careful and safe we were forced into a Crash which was so unavoidable when we look at the circumstances. If it has to happen it will happen no matter what. The ultimate safety obviously is in the hands of the ALMIGHTY but we should always do everything to keep ourselves and people around us safe…

I thank God for everything. I thank him for a New life and for keeping all of us safe even after such a serious crash.

PLEASE WEAR A SEAT BELT AT ALL TIMES.

Masti - NON STOP!

Me and my bro have been planning to have some real masti for quiet some time. He came to Bangalore in Oct. 2005 and was here for almost a week. I had planned so many things at that time but unfortunately we could not do that amount of masti at all. Since then its been ringing in our minds that lets get together and loose control...

I was supposed to be moving back to New delhi in the early August and thats y Anand booked his tickets in a haste so that we have some fun in Bangalore. Once i knew he booked the tickets I immediately called the agency to get me a good car on self drive. The plan has been cooking for almost 2 weeks. I lost sleep in excitement and used to call everyday to all the resorts to check availability and bookings. Unfortunately, all the jungle safaris were closed and i could not get one. The other plan was to go to Ooty or Red Hills but that also did not happen as its raining heavily there and the road had been closed. I was getting dissapointed everytime i was calling any hill station or a tourist spot. I did not want any thing that i plan to be a flop, but at the same time the only thing i felt was that i'm going to be with Anand. however we spent time its going to be fun. So i was not bothered with the fact that we cannot go to OOTY or for any Jungle Safari's.

I had a few backup plans in my mind as always... Coorg / Mysore.
Coorg was raining heavy so i was on the fence as Anand had to leave back for Delhi on Monday evening. So i was left with Mysore. We had to spend atleast one day in Mysore which was Mandatory as Masi is there so our route map had Mysore for sure.

During this time we spoke everyday with each other and spoke the same things every day. ha ha ha
I went shopping and bought two similar Sweat Shirts for both of us. He also went shopping and bought a bunch of tees.
Finally it was the day and he arrived. I picked him at the Airport and dropped him home.

We started next day early morning at 6:00am from home. I went to FS to see my friends there and then we started off our Journey to Mysore. We started to drive at 7:00am from Bangalore and we were in Mysore by 9:00am. The drive was Awesome and after Anand got behind the wheel i started to do what i love to - Photography.

Masi and uncle were delighted to see Anand. After a great B'fast we had to wait till it was 11:30am before we could start driving agian... reason: mom called saying that we should not be driving between 9:30 to 11:30am... like good boys we listened to her and finished of with shower and started off again at around 11:45am. We went to Balmuri falls. There was a lot of water so we could not go in the falls and play with water at all. The trees around the falls were submerged in the water. We took some pictures there and as soon as it started to rain we got back in the car. When we got back in the car we were already drenched so we got a thought.... why not to get completely drenched in rain.

I wanted to climb on the car and told Anand lets do it like we used to do it with mamaji's Amby. he he he. So we climbed on the hood and took some pictures. he he he

It started to rain heavy and both of us taking a stroll enjoying every bit of it. Finally the rain stopped and we decided to leave. just when we were leaving we saw some one selling Fried Fish. yummmmy...
So obviously we stopped to grab a bite. They usually used to have some crabs too but that day they did not have any :(

So after we left Balmuri falls the only thing that we were thinking of how to spend the rest of our day!!!
GRS Fantasy Park!
This is an amusement Park which falls on the way back to Mysore. After buying the entry tickets the first thing we did was to purchase swimwear. After that we immediately changed and moved towards the swimming pools. I have been to this place earlier and it was a lot of fun.

Both of us got a double tube and went into the slide. It was good fun. not to mention the 70 degree slide and the roller coaster ride was great too. I lost count of how many times we went up and down that building. the Pendulum Slide was simply amazing. From 2pm to 6:30pm we were there. The wave pool was amazing. It was raining and i was teaching Anand how to swim, not to mention he only wanted to swim in the direction of Yo Bebys around there. he he he

By the time we reached home we were dead tired. We were also afraid what if we get body ache tomorrow so we bought some tonic water too.

Masi had invited Didi's in-laws to dinner and after and amazing dinner that masi had prepared we went upstairs to the terrace. We were there till 2:00am. Talking on many topics which both of us do not remember today. I was so sleepy and tired and so was Anand. He was talking and I was listening. He did not know what he was talking and i did not know what i was listening to but it was just that we were together was more important.

The next day we got up at 11:00am and after lunch we left for Bangalore. It was fun driving all they way to bangalore in rain. The car started to trouble a bit with the gearbox now.

After reaching Bangalore we went to Leela Palace thinking that we will play bowling but there was 2 hrs of waiting so we cancelled the plan. Then we went to Royal Orchid hotel and had dinner there.

We came home only by 1:30am. he he he. We just wanted to sleep.

Next day morning he wanted to make some purchases. We picked up my friend and left for Shopping. After shopping we went to Sikander for lunch. The buffet lunch was amazing.
We roamed around in the mall and as uaual spent time admiring the Nature and its beauty with all the Yo bebys we came across. he he he

At this time the car started to give a lot of trouble and anand was the only one to manage it. He got late to the Airport and i had to get him an auto rikshaw as the car refused to move. with great difficulty i managed to drive it to the agency and blasted every one there.

This weekend was one of the best coz it was with anand. We did all the masti we wanted and no limits. WOW!!!

Bro - Lets plan another one in the comming month?

New Opportunities!

Life moves on and so do people... so did I...

Yes, I finally moved on from Foundation Systems Inc. After being with this company for 2 yrs and being a part of the growth of the company I left with a heavy heart. Just like my entire tenure at FS the last couple of weeks at Foundation Systems (FS) were very exciting. It was fun altogether. I made a placement with a new client on my last day of work while i was transitioning my duties to the new people. It was a great feeling...

I have always enjoyed my work at Foundation Systems and have always wanted to do things better and different. I have done a good job there. On my last day at FS I had a farewell cake which i was asked to cut, that cake was Awesome. Then entire team them smeared the cake on my face as i used to do it for everyone on their b'days. It was good fun. As the day came towards the end i walked from one desk to another talking to everyone and wishing them luck and giving advices.... ha ha ha... best pass time finally handing over my access card and walking out of the office was a different feeling.

When i was logging off my system it was difficult to believe that i would not be logging on ever again to bullhorn. Bullhorn is one application that i would miss to work with. I was escorted out of the office by my manager and both of us were saying to each other that i'll will miss u. We went to the cafeteria area and took some pictures. As i walked out of the building it was not an easy moment. I had mixed feelings. I was sad coz i was leaving FS and i was happy coz i was going to be closer to family and i was joining a company which i have always wanted to work with.

Life goes on!

Long Drive!

It was a weekend and my sis, jeeju and nephew were here in India. I've been thinking of going for a long drive for long but no companions. So i cancelled it once earlier cos of that. Last weekend i was pretty much determined to go on a long drive and get away from this place as its been a real long time i have gone anywhere out.

So i booked a self drive - Ford ikon for unlimited miles... On Friday i called my friends who frequent to Mysore and checked with them if they would be going to Mysore this weekend, and fortunately they were... I left office on Saturday morning and started to drive. I picked up my friends and then soon we hit the Bangalore - Mysore Highway. It was 7:00am when we started on the highway.

The roads were open and i did not hesitate to floor the throttle... As a perfect petrol engine the josh machine (ford ikon) was at 130kph+ without effort and we could hardly realize sitting inside. The early morning drive was just perfect and the sun was just coming up so it was not too hot as well. I had some old college time audio cassettes and the speakers were delivering music to their max.

The drive was amazing and I clocked 170kph in this car. the moment i saw the needle touching 170kph i started to think how difficult is it to break at this speed and just then i applied the breaks and the whole car started to wobble. That was scary to some extent but i did not give up and did not miss any chance to speed and make it to cross 150kph. It was a great feeling. We reached Mysore by 8:45am after taking a 20 minutes break to have b'fast. I was surprised that i could make it to Mysore this fast. WOW!

When i reached there i met my uncle and aunt and after having a nice home cooked b'fast i left to see my sis, jeeju and nephew. I was with them the whole afternoon and it was fun. I was meeting my sis, jeeju and nephew after a 3 yr gap. We spoke for long hours and had a lot of fun. I was in Mysore for more than 2 days and i had a rocking time with them.

It was a Monday morning and i had to come back to Bangalore. I realized that i was alone on the way back. Jeeju warned me not to drive fast and never cross 140kph in this car as it was a hired car and could break down as well. I kept that in mind and started to drive at 12:45pm.

It was pretty Sunny when i started to drive. I got the tyre pressure checked and just before hitting the highway i bought a couple of water bottles and cold drink. I had couple of packs of potato chips in the car already. I hit the Mysore - Bangalore highway at 1:00pm and i was in Bangalore by 2:40pm. I did not take any breaks this time but i did not over speed too. I was going at 150kph and the car was doing amazingly well with the air-con on all the time. It gave me a great satisfaction when i saw the needle crossing 140kph mark and driving at that speed for quiet some time. Also, it was fun to overtake other cars at 140kph and by the time i used to see in the rear view mirror i used to see them way behind and in some cases not there at all.
Well even though i reached Bangalore at 2:40pm i reached home only by 4:30pm. Isnt that crazy.

Bangalore traffic made me mad but with potato chips, music, cold drinks and a great air-con i was sitting cool inside the car without any hurry to go anywhere. I was driving at 20kph now - just 140kph less than what i was driving a few hours back. ha ha ha.

High speed always is thrilling but one has to be Alert one hundred percent all the time especially on Indian roads / highways.
When i was driving at 150kph i could see a kid running and crossing the road. If i was not alert i would have hit him and maybe realized after a mile what happened... It has happened so many times to so many people.

Its not wrong to go fast in a high speeding zone but its very important to keep ourselves very alert all the time.

All in all i had a rocking weekend after a long time and the drive was Simply Awesome!

Be Happy!

I was in a conversation with a friend and we were sharing our experiences from the past we just found out one thing... Life will never give a reason to smile. We need to find it and enjoy that very moment... We often complicate our lives running behind happiness / money / success and forget that its all right here... all we need to do is stop and live that very moment...

Many a times we think when we have money / success / power we might be happy. Its not true... We just need a good company / companion to be happy. Happiness never comes with conditions... If you are rich not necessarily you will be happy. Happiness connected with money / success and power is not actual happiness... its all materialistic happiness. life comes to us in phases and so does these three things...
Money comes and goes... never stays with you... you cannot buy happiness
Success comes and after some time it fades...
Power... ha ha ha - can power get you happiness... Never

We often get clouded with these things and forget there is one thing for sure that will get us happiness....
Family and Friends...
Whats the money for of you cannot spend it on your own people.
Whats the success for if you cannot share it with your family and friends.
You might be the most powerful person on earth.. what if you dont have family and friends.... u r alone...

Our urge to be on the top and taking shortcuts for the same never works. One thing i've learnt in my life is that... there is no shortcut to success... Shortcuts are for weak characters... they are lazy bums... who dont want to rough it out.

People who reach to the top with out hardwork never get the taste of success... people who get things without struggle never know the value of the same.

The taste of success is very sweet and nice. I have tasted it many a times... I could enjoy the taste the success cos i've tasted failures... maybe more failures than success...

I was talking to one of my elders in family today. She was like i'm sick and tired of being strong. I want to relax. she is in late 60's i can understand...

Me and my friend were talking on the phone y'day and we were saying the same to each other... I'm tired of being strong and all the fight we have given so far to reach here... Our age 24-25... ha ha ha

While talking to her i shared with her about something bad that happened last week. All the time she was thinking that it might have happened last year... when she came to know that it was as recent as last week she was surprised. She was like but "i could never make out looking at you that anything like this could have happened". ha ha ha...

Well one of the things that i learnt from my boss - my guru is to wear a smile. It just masks everything. No one will ever be able to make out what u might be thinking or going thru... ;)
The whole world does not need to know about it as well. It goes without saying that you need to know where to smile and where not to... ;)

Life for some is a cake walk and for some its a battle...
In a battle - you win or you die or maybe you surrender....

Its been a battle of different kind for me all the time... Fighting all odds... I was pushed into this battle at a very young age... I have been in this battle for quiet some time now... I lost sometimes but i never turned my back at it nor did i agree to surrender...

Fortunately todays battles dont come with options (die/surrender)... These options are for weak characters...
We live to see and enjoy our Victory!

WE FIGHT UNTILL WE WIN!

Smile when you loose, Smile when you win!
KEEP SMILING! BE HAPPY!

15th April - The Devil's Birthday!

It was my B'day and when i woke up i discovered that i have some 30 odd missed calls on my cell phone and some 10 messages. So called everyone back and got their wishes... The next thing in my mind was... what should i be doing today??? I had a reason to celebrate... I wanted to do something good and nice today. :D
Unfortunately all my friends were out of Bangalore. Some school buddies are busy with office work and family, my night shift buddies were still sleeping from last night... and my colleagues are busy too... :(

As such mere liye ghar me rehna kitna mushkil hai weekend pe... somehow i just cannot stay at home. even in Delhi my parents and me used to have a difference of opinion on this :(

So while going thru the my phone book i found a number of a friend and messaged her what time she would get free. She replied that she is done with her work today... (i.e. darti ke chakker katna) he he he.. and was free for the day. I asked her out and we decided to meet for lunch. We went to a nice restaurant. Fortunately both of us a non-vegetarian foodies so it was good. The kebabs were AWESOME and so was the rest of the meal. My mouth started watering now just by the thought of those Kebabs.... yum....

After the lunch we spoke for quiet some time. We had already booked ourselves for a movie so we went to see a movie too... I got the tickets in the last row just an hour ahead of the movie time... so both of us did not know if this is going to be a good one. "life mein kabhi kabhi" that was the movie. It was a Pakao movie and at some time or the other she used to say sorry for getting me in this one... ha ha ha well it was our mutual decision....

The movie story was very true to life... but the way it was presented was not good enough...

I don't know this girl for long. Met her recently. When i met her initially i had never thought that we will be good friends. I'm so glad that we are good friends now and we can count on each other anytime... Her company was good and it was fun. She made my day... She is the bubbly, chirpy types... a good friend... well she asked me to write good about her so I'm... ha ha ha
Jokes apart... she is a really nice person and a caring friend... Thank you Friend!

The evening was not that exciting... but it was relaxing. I was at home with family and it was nice and relaxing. Though i had a dinner party planned but i thought of giving some time to my family and cancelled the party.

All in all it was a very good day. Thank you to my friend who spend her valuable time making my day and thanks to everyone who wished me... and also thanks in advance to those who forgot to wish me.... he he he coz i know when they will.. they will wish me saying this is in advance for the next year. ha ha ha

Just wanted to let all my family and friends know that u guys are the best...
I appreciate your patience as I know how difficult it is to listen to me all the time... ha ha ha

Thank you! God Bless!

Night Shift Buddies!

Me and some of my friends are in the Night shift so our day starts ideally at 7:00pm IST. We sit and talk for a couple of hours deciding on what to do and where to go. By the time the decision is made it about 9:00pm and that is the time when we feel like going out of the house and to a nice restaurant for a meal (we dont know what to call it... b'fast, lunch or dinner) This is the only proper meal we have.

So it was my B'day on the 15th and me and my friends started celebrating from 14th night itself. We had just one motor bike that day and the three of us were not in a mood to take chances... as such the cops in bangalore are alert on the weekends... so we decided to go to a restaurant that is close by and went to the Royal Orchid hotel. Its a real nice one. It has a 24hrs Coffee shop and we just went and sat in one of the wooden huts in the lawns. The ambience around was great. There was dinner buffet and my friend decided to take the buffet dinner instead of starters. We thought it would be good as we can have unlimited quantity. ha ha ha

Unfortunately for us there was nothing tandoori etc. in the buffet. There was variety of things but nothing that was up to our taste. So finally we got the papdi and some curds and made chat of it... and our dinner was just that. I dont remember how much of that papdi chat we had.... lol
We had lots of fun but the only thing that we did not like was the food and we could not help it at all. Maybe we were at a wrong place.... ha ha ha

So we spent the whole evening there and we came to Diamond District and then as soon as it was 12am. my friends lifted me and then put me down in the middle of the street... then they jumped on me and wished me Happy B'day! he he he this is the way we wish our friends. Ashu.. ur b'day is also coming... and i'm waiting for it ;)

I was back home by 12:45. I got a few calls from my family and friends wishing and blessing me on my b'day.

Not one of the best evenings... cos we did not like the food.

But spending time with these night shift buddies was great. Thank you guys!
